The PEP Education Technology Workshop – Hands-on Workshop on Learning Content Creation was successfully conducted on October 17 & 18, 2025. This two-day workshop was designed to empower educators and trainers to enhance their digital teaching skills through practical, interactive sessions focused on modern content creation techniques.

Participants engaged in hands-on exercises to develop a variety of learning materials tailored for digital platforms. The sessions guided them through developing interactive learning modules, producing micro-learning videos, designing whiteboard animations, and creating engaging educational podcasts that make complex topics easier to grasp. Participants also explored content delivery platforms to make learning more accessible and impactful.

The workshop encouraged creativity and collaboration, allowing participants to experiment with different media formats and discover tools that can elevate the quality of their teaching materials. Workshop on Student Response Systems

The PEP Education Technology Workshop – Student Response System (Virtual Workshop) was successfully conducted on August 28, 2025. This virtual session focused on introducing participants to digital tools that enhance learner engagement and interaction in both online and in-person classrooms.

The workshop provided hands-on experience in creating and conducting polls, quizzes, and word-clouds to make sessions more dynamic and participatory. Participants explored platforms such as Kahoot, Mentimeter, and Slido, learning how to design engaging activities and integrate them seamlessly into their teaching presentations.

Through live demonstrations and guided practice, attendees discovered how student response systems can foster active learning, immediate feedback, and collaborative classroom environments. Primer on Artificial Intelligence - Demystifying Large Language Models

The PEP Education Technology Workshop – Primer on Artificial Intelligence: Demystifying Large Language Models was successfully conducted on July 26, 2025, and proved to be an engaging and insightful experience for participants across CMC Vellore. The workshop aimed to simplify the concepts behind Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), helping participants gain a foundational understanding of how these technologies function and their growing impact on everyday digital interactions.

The session introduced key AI and LLM terminologies, breaking down complex concepts into clear and relatable explanations. Participants from diverse departments came together, fostering an atmosphere of curiosity and lively discussion. The sessions explored how LLMs are built, how they process information, and the real-world implications of their use in various fields.

A dedicated segment on AI ethics, privacy, and safety encouraged participants to reflect on responsible use and potential challenges in adopting AI technologies. Basics of Online Conferencing Tools

The PEP Education Technology Workshop – Basics of Online Conferencing Tools was successfully conducted across three campuses of CMC between June 19 – June 23, 2025. The workshop aimed to equip participants with the essential skills required to effectively host and manage online meetings and webinars, fostering smooth virtual communication and collaboration in academic and professional contexts.

The hands-on sessions focused on the practical aspects of setting up and hosting online sessions, including meeting scheduling, participant management, screen sharing, and using interactive features for engagement. Participants explored both Zoom and Microsoft Teams, gaining confidence in utilizing these platforms for teaching, training, and administrative purposes.

The interactive learning environment allowed participants to practice real-time scenarios, troubleshoot common challenges, and understand best practices for conducting seamless virtual sessions. This workshop contributed to building a stronger foundation in online communication and digital facilitation across the institution.

Advanced Online Tools

The PEP Education Technology Workshop – Advanced Online Tools was successfully conducted across 5 campuses of CMC between April 11 – April 30, 2025. This workshop served as a continuation of the “Basics of Online Tools” series, focusing on deepening participants’ understanding and practical use of online tools to enhance productivity and digital organization in their professional roles.

The hands-on sessions guided participants through advanced OneDrive setup and management, helping them optimize cloud storage, sharing permissions, and collaborative file access. The workshop also covered Outlook mail rules to automate email organization and improve inbox efficiency, along with advanced calendar settings for better scheduling, coordination, and time management.

Participants engaged actively in the sessions, applying the demonstrated techniques to real work scenarios and discovering new ways to streamline communication and collaboration within their teams. The workshop encouraged a culture of digital proficiency, equipping participants to leverage advanced features of Microsoft tools for everyday tasks.

Hands on Workshop on Virtual Microscopy

Hands-on Workshop on Virtual Microscopy was successfully conducted on March 21, 2025, at CMC. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the evolving field of digital microscopy and its applications in medical education, research, and publishing.

The sessions provided a comprehensive overview of virtual microscopy, guiding participants through the process of using the OMERO web interface for managing and viewing digital slides. Participants also gained practical experience in setting up OMERO servers, enabling them to store, share, and analyze high-resolution images efficiently. The workshop concluded with a session on digital images in publishing, highlighting best practices for image quality, ethical standards, and effective visual presentation in academic outputs.

The interactive format encouraged participants to engage directly with the tools, explore real datasets, and understand how virtual microscopy can transform teaching and research workflows.

The workshop engaged a diverse group of participants across different age groups and professional backgrounds. The interactive and hands-on approach enabled participants to gain practical skills in managing emails, organizing schedules, and utilizing cloud storage effectively.

National Level Workshop at CMC Vellore

The Innovations in Online and Blended Learning (OBL) Workshop was successfully conducted from October 10 to 12, 2024, at CMC Vellore, Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with the Center for Online and Blended Learning (COBL), University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation, with 103 participants joining each day. Resource persons from COBL, Copenhagen, and CMC Vellore led the sessions, offering valuable insights and expertise.

This 3-day event provided a dynamic platform for participants to exchange ideas, learn from experts and peers, and explore practical strategies for implementing blended learning in diverse educational contexts.
